French Wedding Photographer

Editorial, artistic wedding photography for celebrations across france.

France has always had a certain confidence about weddings.

A château in the Dordogne, a long lunch in Provence, a black-tie celebration in Paris, or a warm evening somewhere along the Riviera — somehow it all feels naturally cinematic without having to try too hard.

That suits the way I photograph.

My approach is a mixture of documentary observation and a more editorial eye. I want the photographs to feel elegant, atmospheric and considered, but never so polished that they stop feeling real.

The best weddings usually have a bit of both.

Beautiful clothes, beautiful light, beautifully set tables — and then someone laughs at the wrong moment, the wind catches a veil, a glass gets knocked over, or an uncle decides he is suddenly in charge

of the dance floor.

Those are often the photographs people remember.

Photographing Weddings Across France

I photograph weddings throughout France, including Paris, Provence, Bordeaux, the Dordogne, the Loire Valley, the Côte d’Azur and the South of France. Every part of the country has its own character.

Paris has that wonderful mixture of grandeur and chaos.

Provence gives you warm stone, late light and dinners that seem to go on forever.

Bordeaux and the Dordogne are full of beautiful estates and châteaux, while the Riviera

brings a more glamorous, sun-soaked atmosphere.

The setting matters, of course, but it is never the whole story. What matters more is the way the day feels.

Château Weddings in France,

French château weddings are a gift photographically. There is space, architecture, texture, gardens, old stone, sweeping staircases and often the sort of evening light that makes you look suspiciously clever as a photographer.

But the building should never become more important than the people inside it.

I use the surroundings when they add something to the story, but I am always watching for the smaller moments as well — conversations, gestures, nerves, laughter and the bits of the day that happen when nobody thinks they are being photographed.

That balance is important to me.

Paris Weddings Paris is very different.

It can be elegant, stylish and beautifully composed one minute, then gloriously unpredictable the next.

That is part of the appeal.

A Paris wedding does not need to look like a postcard. I would much rather create photographs that feel personal to the couple than spend the day chasing obvious landmarks.

Of course, if the light is good and the Eiffel Tower happens to behave itself, I am not going to complain.

Provence and the South of France

The South of France has a slower rhythm. Warm evenings, long tables, olive trees, vineyards and old houses all lend themselves beautifully to natural photography.

There is often a softness to the light as the day moves into evening, and that is where I tend to work quietly — observing rather than organising.

Some of my favourite photographs are made in those in-between moments when nobody is performing for the camera.

Editorial Without Becoming Staged

I like fashion, design and strong composition, so there will always be an editorial influence in my work.

But I do not want a wedding to feel like a fashion shoot with a ceremony in the middle.

When there is time, I will create a few stronger portraits with a more deliberate feel. The rest of the day is

allowed to breathe.

That way the finished collection has shape and style, but still feels honest.

A British Photographer for Weddings in France

I am based in the UK and photograph weddings across Europe.

Travelling to France is very much part of the way I work, and my European collections are designed to keep things straightforward for couples and planners.

No complicated surprises. No mysterious travel mathematics. Just a clear figure, agreed in advance.

Is This Wedding Photography for Everyone? Probably not.

I am not interested in making every wedding look the same, and I am not trying to create a formula.

I would much rather work with couples who care about atmosphere, design, people and photography itself.

Couples who want their photographs to feel refined, but still alive.

That is usually where the best work happens.

France Wedding Photography

If you are planning a wedding in France and looking for photography with a documentary soul, an editorial eye and a little artistic instinct, I would be delighted to hear what you are planning.

Paris, Provence, Bordeaux, the Dordogne, the Loire, the Riviera or somewhere wonderfully obscure that I have not yet had the pleasure of getting lost in.
