Claridge’s Wedding Photographer

A personal approach to wedding photography at Claridge’s

There’s a lovely moment at a Claridge’s wedding when the room is ready, the flowers are in place and everyone takes a breath before the day begins.

Then out of nowhere someone suddenly laughs, a toast is raised, and the best-laid timetable quietly makes room for reality .

That’s part of the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Claridge’s: the setting is wonderfully grand, but the day will always belong to the people in it.

Claridge’s has a way of making even a small moment feel special. The classic Art Deco and the Ballroom’s sense of expectation, both are beautiful to photograph, but I’m also interested in what’s happening between the formalities: little human things, a reassuring hand on a shoulder, old friends catching up, or a proud parent trying not to get so emotional, only partly succeeding. These are the moments that make a wedding feel like yours.

As a Claridges’s wedding photographer, I enjoy finding a relaxed rhythm with the couple and their guests. Making time for some official family shots, but they needn’t take over the day. often the style can be totally informal, with natural documentary images

being every bit as important.

And our style, fashion-led, editorial and artistic , in essence giving you lots of

differing scenarios to the day events

The hotel offers a choice of settings, from the grand Ballroom to more relaxed intimate rooms

such as Highgrove gives a wedding its own atmosphere, and that can change how I photograph it: the wider view when the room is full of life, then the smaller details and conversations that might otherwise pass by. I’m there to notice both,

For me, lovely London wedding photography is about remembering how the day felt, as much as how it looked. Claridge’s gives us an extraordinary backdrop; humour and happy chaos come from you and the people around you. My approach brings a documentary eye and an editorial touch to the celebration, so the photographs feel polished, personal and alive.

With absolutely nobody required to behave as though they’re in a period drama.
