Penshurst Place Wedding Photographer

Penshurst Place is one of those wonderful Kent wedding venues where a photographer can become rather distracted. Around every corner there's another beautiful doorway, extraordinary light or a little piece of history just waiting to become part of a photograph. The trick, of course, is remembering there's a wedding going on!
I've photographed weddings here before, and it's a place that genuinely gets my imagination working. The magnificent old architecture, wonderful gardens and occasional bit of unpredictable British weather all offer opportunities to create something special. I love mixing those spontaneous, unrepeatable moments with a few more adventurous, fashion-inspired portraits. Nothing too serious, nothing too staged — just beautiful, imaginative photography with a little Visionaire personality.
A Photographer's Eye on Penshurst Place
One of the great things of photographing a wedding at Penshurst Place is that the building does half the showing off for you. Those rustic old walls, beautiful gardens and little pockets of light provide endless possibilities. I enjoy finding the less obvious angles — the sort of places where a passing glance, a gust of wind or a beautifully timed moment can turn an ordinary photograph into something rather extraordinary.
Of course, not every photograph needs to be a work of art. Some of my favourites are the completely unscripted moments, when everyone has forgotten there's a photographer about. For me, the magic is in combining both — genuine wedding storytelling with the occasional photograph that makes you stop and look twice.

Making a Splash at Penshurst Place — Wedding Photography with a Twist
I've always believed the best wedding photographs happen when people are enjoying themselves rather than worrying about the camera. Penshurst Place is particularly good for that. There's room for laughter, a little mischief and the occasional wonderfully chaotic moment that nobody could have planned.
Having photographed weddings here, I know there's much more to Penshurst than its impressive architecture. It's about knowing when to make the most of that gorgeous Kent light, when to suggest something a little adventurous and, perhaps most importantly, when to put the camera quietly to work and let the day unfold.
My approach is simple: tell the real story beautifully, then find a few opportunities to create something nobody was quite expecting.

Kent has no shortage of rather wonderful places to get married. Alongside Penshurst Place, I've photographed weddings at Eastwell Manor, Hever Castle and Leeds Castle, each offering its own character and photographic possibilities.
